Weight is a health issue — not a willpower issue. At Haan Health, we approach weight management without judgement, focusing on your underlying health, individual circumstances, and sustainable long-term outcomes rather than short-term targets.
Our GPs understand that weight is influenced by a complex range of factors including hormones, metabolism, sleep, stress, mental health, and medical conditions — and that effective weight management begins with a thorough clinical assessment, not a one-size-fits-all program.
GP-Led Weight Assessment Your GP will conduct a thorough assessment including BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure, metabolic blood tests (including glucose, insulin, thyroid, cholesterol), and a review of any medications or medical conditions that may be contributing to your weight. This forms the foundation of a personalised plan.
Medically Guided Weight Management Planning Based on your assessment, your GP will work with you to develop a realistic, evidence-based weight management plan — integrating dietary changes, physical activity guidance, behavioural strategies, and where appropriate, medical treatment options.
Nutritional Guidance & Allied Health Referrals Our GPs can provide general nutritional guidance and, where more detailed support is needed, refer you to a dietitian through a Team Care Arrangement (TCA), allowing Medicare-rebated access to allied health support.
Medical Management Options For patients where medical treatment is clinically appropriate, our GPs are up to date with current evidence-based pharmacological options for weight management. All medication options are discussed in detail, with clear explanations of how they work, their benefits, and their limitations.
Coordination with Allied Health Our onsite physiotherapy team can provide exercise prescription and support for patients working on weight management — particularly those with mobility limitations or co-existing musculoskeletal conditions.
Our Broadbeach clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. New patients are welcome.
