Dr. Sonu Haikerwal is the sole director and Principal General Practitioner at the Haan Health Medical Centre and enjoys offering thorough medicine to her patients. Dr. Sonu has a wealth of experience in health and general practice and is comfortable dealing with complex health problems.As the owner and founder of the successful Haan Health clinics, Dr. Sonu has spent two decades as a General Practitioner and team leader, and over 15 years teaching medical students and GP Registrars. She was on the faculty of Bond University, Griffith University and General Practice Training Queensland.
Dr. Sonu’s career spans over 25 years and across three continents, having worked as a medical doctor in Australia, the UK and India. After graduating from the prestigious AIIMS College in New Delhi, India, she completed her physician training in London and obtaining her MRCP. Dr. Sonu was a Practice partner in South West England before settling in Australia.
Dr. Sonu completed training and further qualifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology gaining her DRCOG, she also completed training in Family Planning.
During the Covid pandemic, Dr. Sonu successfully ran a Federal Government Respiratory Clinic, as a team leader on the front line of infection control and vaccination. Her tireless dedication during this time, often seeing hundreds of patients a week, earned her a nomination as Australian Of The Year award Gold Coast for 2022.
She is well known as a media spokesperson with regular talk-back radio shows on 4BC every fortnight, and during the Covid pandemic she was frequently on the news for channels 7, 9 and the ABC.
Between 2017 and 2019, Dr. Sonu was the president of the Gold Coast Medical Association (GCMA), and on the board of General Practice Gold Coast (GPGC) and Gold Coast Hospital Foundation (GCHF).
Dr. Sonu believes health hinges on more than a prescription ‘pill’. This principle underpins the philosophy of doctor-led Kiran Wellness Retreats and LifeScript. It drives her mission to help others heal holistically. Not just focusing on the body, but the mind and the spirit. Recently she won the 2024 Gold Coast Bulletin Women of the Year in the Wellness Warriors category.

Hello – I’m Niki, proud to be part of the Haan Health network. My focus lies in delivering thorough and personalised care, aligning perfectly with Haan’s values. I enjoy collaborating with patients of diverse backgrounds and ages to help them reach their health objectives.
I earned my MD from Griffith University in 2014 and have remained dedicated to offering comprehensive medical services to our local community through General Practice.
My professional interests encompass a wide spectrum, including skin checks, women’s health, antenatal shared care, family medicine, child and adolescent health, aged care, chronic disease management, and palliative care.
Dr. Gaby Luna is an experienced GP who also trained as a gynaecologist and obstetrician in Argentina and has worked in Australia since 2007. She is a member of the Australian Menopause Society and is greatly passionate about sexual health and women’s health. In her six years of practice in Mullumbimby, she gained profound experience in holistic medicine and greater insight into person-centred care. Her approach is compassionate, looking to treat the root cause rather than symptoms, supporting shared decision-making and advocating on her patient’s behalf. Through her extensive surgical experience, she has also advanced her skin cancer medicine training and gained a paediatric care diploma with public acknowledgement by Mums & Bubs Gold Coast.
Dr. Jessica Clarke completed Internship at Logan Hospital and Residency at Gold Coast University Hospital after Graduating from Griffith University. She offers care in all areas of general practice. This includes; general health checks, preventative health consults, lifestyle medicine, chronic disease management, childhood immunisations, skin checks, excisions and procedures.
Dr. Alastair Macdonald is a general practice trainee at Haan Health Medical Centre and a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Having completed a doctor of medicine (MD) at Bond University in 2017, Dr. Alastair has since worked in a range of disciplines at various tertiary hospitals including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital.
Dr. Macdonald has a keen interest in men’s health, nutrition and procedural skills, including skin excisions. Outside of medicine, Dr. Alastair enjoys socialising, playing tennis and keenly following his beloved Hawthorn Hawks (AFL).
